Presentation by Marc Rogers, CSO Metrion Biosciences, Nanion technologies Exhibitor session, 2020 Biophysical Society meeting, San Diego USA.
Saïd El Haou, Senior Scientist, Metrion Biosciences
In depth profiling of human iPSC cardiomyocytes: From electrophysiology to phenotypic assays. Saïd El Haou’s presentation covers the topics of Manual Patch Clamp – Current Clamp, Axion Maestro – MEA and the Nanion CardioExcyte96 – Impedance.

Comprehensive in vitro Proarrhythmia Assay (CiPA) initiative is a regulatory proposal sponsored by US, European and Japanese safety bodies to replace/augment current cardiac safety testing regimes.
Saïd El Haou’s presentation covers the topics of Manual Patch Clamp (Current Clamp), the Axion Maestro (MEA) and the Nanion CardioExcyte96 (Impedance) and their use to better assess risk earlier in the drug discovery process. This is in addition to the use of in vitro data for in silico modelling of arrhythmia and Torsade de Pointe (TdP) risk and the confirmation of proarrhythmia and TdP signals in human cardiomyocytes.
Saïd gave the presentation at the Ncardia Workshop, Cologne, 29th November – 1st December 2017.
